Hocking Hills Winter Getaway!

Kevin and I just got back from our weekend in Hocking Hills. We had such a fun time and hope to be back again soon! We arrived at about 10pm on Friday night after a winding long ride through country roads. We stepped into our cabin called the Moose and it was cozy warm and so beautiful and complete with a stuffed moose head hanging above us!

The cabin had a fun journal where everyone that stayed wrote about their visit it was fun to read

enjoying the view
After breakfast we went to Walmart (of course) for snow boots for me so i could hike thru the snow with out getting cold wet feet. We didnt find anything there but there was a Shoe Show store and i found the perfect boots there. Now I was ready! We decided to look thru a glassware outlet store and a crafters expo shop. The crafters shop was full of aisles and you could rent a section of an aisle to sell your stuff so we had fun looking at all the unique crafts and creations. We bought a sign for our living room and saw a few jewelry stands and funny trinkets and hobbies.
Then for lunch we were going to go to Ettas Lunchbox which is a cafe ran by a lady who collects lunchboxes from all different times and styles. We thought it would be fun but when we drove 30min to get there it was closed sadface. So insted we went to a mom and pop restaurant called "the Coffee Cup." I got a burger and Kevin got chicken fingers. It was tasty and a cute set up. reminded me of Josiahs.

So THIS Is What a Weekend Is....

At work for the Holiday season I bid for 4 different schedules and they all included Saturday and Sunday OFF! For the first time in 3 years I was able to enjoy what a true weekend is!
Last weekend Kevin and I visited with our friends Lisa and Stephen and their 8 month old Stephanie! Believe it or not we spent most of the time cooing and playing with Stephanie she is a fun kid to watch and play with and I even read her a few stories. They made us lunch it was stuffed shells in marinara and Italian bread. Yum! We also enjoyed some cookies. We had a good time catching up and Kevin even held Stephanie without me coaxing him and he feels a little less awkward with a baby her age. Yay! :-)
This weekend we are going to a cabin in Hocking Hills. We will leave after work tomorrow and arrive at 10pm. So excited to be able to get away to a winter wonderland! We are hoping to also visit some of the shops out there and they have trails too. We are bringing the camera and im hoping to try out our new lenses on the trees and snow outside the cabin. Katrina is coming into town also this weekend and we are hoping to see her and the family on Sunday when we get back.
I just finished all my Christmas shopping last night did 99% of it online and loved it no overcrowded stores for me this year!
Well I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!
love to all!

Its beginning to look alot like Christmas!......

Starting yesterday Kevin and I began decorating for Christmas! My friend Betsy and her 2 yr old son helped me decorate the tree. This year will probably be the last year i use all the red ornaments and lights because I am repainting the living room after the new year a nice blue to brighten it up in there. I am looking forward to all the Christmas clearance this year to stock up on blue ornaments, lights, and ribbons to match my new living room! Kevin and i will be taking a trip to Ikea (huge furnature store) on new years day to get shelving and maybe a new rug to finish the room. Anyway back to decorating... I am amazed at all the decorations I have collected over the last couple years! I have a few garlands that I had no place for.

Kevin has not put up lights outside yet but he is not sure if he wants to this year yet. we will see. Enjoy the pictures and happy decorating!!!

Thanksgiving 2010

What a wonderful day Thanksgiving was! It felt like it took forever to get here and now I cant believe its over!
Kevin and I woke at 9am and I made a veggie pizza and cheese ball and Kevin loaded the car with table and chairs to accommodate this big family!

The amazing before dinner spread Kat's deviled eggs My veggie pizza and Kari found her calling for thanksgiving with homemade jalapeno cranberry sauce mmm!

Mom and Judah made our placecard decor of rice crispy turkeys!

The table set to perfection! We were able to fit more people with the tables in a t shape which was Kevins idea and worked well.

Aunt Judy brought this adorable edible turkey! so fun!

cute!
After gorging ourselves we also looked at Black Friday deals and Kari and Kat went out that night to get movies at walmart at 12am. All us older kids also watched Beauty and the Beast late at night and sang along with all the tunes! It was a great end to an amazing day!
I was so thankful to have the day off of work and to be surounded by a big chunk of my family and missed those that were not there. God is always good every day and I am amazed by his blessings and Grace and Presence. Happy Thanksgiving!
