Lopez Camp Trip 2014

The last week in May the Lopez family went (well the ones that can tolerate camping) on their annual camping trip in Hocking Hills. We were able to go for 4 days instead of the usual 3 and it was more enjoyable for sure! We were able to caravan with the motorcycles in front and I drove our car full of gear and Tommy and Anna drove their van with their stuff and mom and dad's gear. We also were able to arrive early to the campsite to enjoy the most we could of our first day!

my go to camping style! no one can tell if your hair is greasy! :)

Lounging after setting up camp!

The Kitchen/Dinning area

Clockwise from the left - Josiah, Tommy & Anna, Kevin & Tania, Mom & Dad.

Happy Campers!

First campfire for dinner!

Handsome silly husband!

Rocky the raccoon as Dad affectionately called him. They came right up to us while we were at the campfire. It was a little creepy

That's my dad! For as long as I can remember dad's socks were as high as possible and he was surrounded with books and taking notes. Camping doesn't stop him either hence his trusty head lamp!
The next day we went to Conkles Hollow Trail. Kevin and Josiah did the Gorge trail and the rest of us went to see the cave and waterfall.

Dad is super excited about more walking after Katrina a couple days before tuckered him out

The one rock is supposed to look like a horse but Tommy said it was a buffalo and I thought it looked like a beaver....

Water kept dropping on us as we trekked deeper into the cave
This was a cool green beetle I found along the path!

Ah yes camping isnt complete unless you can sit next to the campfire and read on your tablet....
more to come in another post!
