One Year Anniversary!

For our anniversary Kevin and I went to Indianapolis. Originally it was supposed to be Chicago but we didnt feel we had enough days off to go that far. We left work at 7:30 on Friday night and got a quick Wendy's dinner. Kevin drove the three hours and we arrived at Drury Inn at 11pm. We love the Drury because we get a free breakfast of waffles, eggs and sausage, muffins and juice and free dinner/snack of chicken fingers, baked potatoes, nachos, hot dogs and salad. Plus free soda too! So we only had to take car of lunch!


The first day we went to a mall in the middle of the city. It had 4 floors and was pretty cool. there was a music garden where live music played and had great views of the city. We had subway for lunch and decided to leave and go check out a monument

 After the monument we went to a park about 2 min away to rest and relax.

we ran into a canal that ran thru the city that i wanted to see. you could rent a paddle boat to go thru it!

I loved this tree we laid out a blanket under it and Kevin read and I took pictures of the fall colors

 After resting in the park we went for a walk around the museum and had an encounter...!

Then we decided to head back to the hotel we ordered pizza in tho to keep with tradition of our first night together a year ago for dinner. Then we indulged in the cable tv since we dont have it at home. We watched HGTV and TLC the most. STUFFED PEPPERS - So tonight I made stuffed green peppers from my new supper list. They were pretty good. I didn't care for the green peppers but kevin ate mine and I enjoyed the filling. It really was like sloppy Joe mixed with rice and cooked in a pepper.... it only took another 30 min to make which is good because I lost track of time working on my jewelry orders. But God had that worked out BC Kevin ended up running late any way! Well I have to make boxes for Katrina's and Adeah's jewelry order then watching a movie with the hubby! Love you all and happy cooking!

DINNER FOR TWO.... Kevin and I have become bored of rotating the same meals each couple of weeks so I got a bunch of new recipes to try the next two weeks. Today was the first with a Max and Ermas style chicken tortilla soup!!! We both devoured it it was sooo good. I served with a dollop of sour cream, toasted tortilla strips and chedder cheese. With a chilly night like tonight it warmed us up. I also am trying to do more veggies so I served with a romaine salad tonight! Tomorrow is stuffed green peppers!

Greenville and St. Louis!

So for the holiday weekend Tania, Mom (Joyce), Josiah and I all went to Greenville Illinois!  What is in Greenville you ask??  Katrina and Judah of course!!! :) and buffalo!! 

Because of our not so fun schedules we left Saturday night after Tania got off work at roughly 8pm.  We had a 6 hour drive but because of the time change we gained a hour, I think we got there at 1am.  We got a tour of the there place and chatted for a while and then went to bed.  Kat has a very nice place, and we enjoyed seeing where they call home.

The next morning we headed to St. Louis which is about a hour away.  I spotted the Arch first!  But we went to the zoo there.

Kat and Judah had never been and we all enjoy going to zoo's.  The weather was perfect!

One of the coolest exhibits were the penguins.  The first thing you notice is the temperature change.  At first it was refreshing, but the longer you stayed in there the colder it got. 

There were penguins on both sides and you could literally reach out and touch them swimming in the water (we weren't allowed, but we could have).  It was so neat being about a foot or two away from these creatures.

After the zoo we found a restaurant called Triump Grill.  Little did we know it was named after the Triump motorcycles.  All the decor was made up from motorcycle parts and it was very classy!  They also had a big room that you could rent out for meetings etc, but it also doubled as a museum.  There were some very cool old motorcycles in there!  It was nice entertainment for after dinner.

Then to a neat park a few blocks away that had water foutains that lit up and sprayed water everywhere. 

The fountains changed colors too!

Judah was running every which way and had a blast.

I stayed dry and had a photo shoot on the bunny sculptures.

  It was a super long day, but we had a lot of fun being with everyone and seeing a new city! 

Monday morning we went to breakfast and Kat drove us around their little town.  Showed us where she works, and where Judah goes to school, their church and all the different sites.  We were going to do some shopping but everything was closed :(  Then we got to see Judah's favorite Buffalo's!  Most of them were sleeping, or off some where else, but we got to see a few!  We headed back to Ohio around 1pm and got back at 8pm or something like.  The only thing that could have made trip better is if we had more time but we were all thankful for the time we did have!
