New ink, surprise picture paper, and time...

So today after working what seemed like forever at fernhill, I picked up ink for our printer so I could print some doccuments for our cruise next week. When I get home I discover I get 50 4x6 picture paper for free with the black color duo I got! Since I haven't gotten any wedding pics developed I decided to print a few. Thinking it would be a poor quality job I started with one an to my surprise it was better quality then when I get it developed at the store! Then I went crazy and I only have ten left!
Since I had free time tonight I decided to finally use my new desk from IKEA that has been sitting for months. I wiped out my scrapbooking supplies and the wedding theme stuff Kari got me last Christmas. I had fun! I had to keep the pages simpler than I like BC I need more pics in different sizes and I was getting impatient! But you can see what it looks like before an after I'm done! It took me a half an hour to choose what photo I wanted to use for the cover then didn't even attention to start the page! I'm too tired going to bed! Only two more days of tech support then I start my new job!!!! Yay!

My Vegetable Garden

I am so happy to see the awesome start to our new vegetable garden its been 3 weeks everything has started to sprout with the exception of the bell peppers...



Next week I will be tilling the spot in the backyard where I will be planting. I decided to go with a 6 inch raised box garden 3'x6'. Kevin offered to cut the wood boards for me that we found as scrap at the Fernhill house. I simply cannot wait!

Happy Easter!

He has Risen! Thank you God for giving us your son who died for our sins and we celebrate also our risen savior! This morning Kevin and I had our own praise service this morning as unfortunately our church has decided to no longer exist. It came as a shock since it seemed we were preparing for a rebirth as a group but I suppose God had something else in mind. We are going to start visiting churches next week and pray that God lead us to the place where we can fit well and use our gifts in the ministry, I know i would love to do Missions and we both would love to lead youth as well. Your prayers for the Lords direction would be appreciated.
Later in the afternoon we went to Aunt Judy and Uncle Rich's house for a barbecue! It was a blast filled with adult children Easter egg hunt, amazing food, and a mean game of badmitten! Oh yes and there is pictures- visit Nette's blog for those! The food was amazing, kat made a pasta salad and strawberry shortcake, uncle Rich cooked the burgers and dogs, Aunt Judy had her famous mac and cheese, and i brought a veggie pizza. YUM!
Judah got to hunt for eggs that us older kids hid... he did a great job and uncle Tom was his competition! he had a good time. Then Judah and Aunt Judy hid the eggs for us older ones! we even lined up in the kitchen youngest to oldest like old times and dashed out the door, Nette of course won bc she was out the door first(:P) we had a fun time and when we finished we gave Judah back his eggs.
Then For the crazy game of badmitten, we all had the trash talk going on and all equally playing pitifully, Aunt Judy got the motion shots of us as we played to capture the more "dazzling" poses as we stumbled toward the birdie!
Later on we played 4 square in the back which was more copetative then i remember bc people were starting to get nasty! lol
We had an awesome day but missed mom and Josiah it was not the same without them...

Home & Garden Show

Kevin went into work early today so he would get off early and we could have a date night! He picked me up and went to chick-fil-a for dinner yum! Then we went to the annual home and garden show at the Expo. It was fun to see all the plants and trees that were a part of the displays and it really felt like spring in there. I got lots of ideas for the pond i want...! Kevin hinted at buying a robot lawn mower that cut the grass all by itself but I said we would have to wait on that one!

We stopped at one vendor and bought seed packets to start our vegetable garden this spring and tulip bulbs to plant in the front beds. I simply cant wait to start! This is my first time so im reading up on it a bit online and have to find the right spot in the yard so Maya doesn't make a mess of it. The garden so far will have roma and "bigboy" tomatoes, beans, cucumber, broccoli, lettuce,carrots, and bell peppers! we also have a friend who is going to help us can some of the vegetables this fall.

we have renters!!!

Well Kevin and i have found ourselves spending every spare moment now at the Fernhill house because (praise God!) we have a couple who want to rent our house at the end of April!!!! We really like them, they used to go to our church when Kevin was a teen and they understand we are learning the whole property management thing and are excited to see us succeed. They are expecting to rent for a year or two depending on if God calls them to another ministry sooner than later. They are about mom and dads age and super nice! Yay God for finding us a great first tennant!
I am spending my days off over there painting mostly and then take home a box of stuff to try to clean it out a bit. Kevin bless his heart goes there after work every night for an hour or so and half the day on saturday and spends the rest of the time taking care of the legal stuff too and also trying to keep up with repairs at our house (ie. our tub drain got clogged and then pipe busted and he fixed it all before guests arrived!) i am ever greatfull and amazed at all he can do! needless to say we are ready to finish the Fernhill project! Thank you for all the prayers and keep them coming!!
Kevin and i enjoyed our weekend we had friends Jimmie and Lauren from out of town visit and spend the night. They brought there little girl who is nearly 1 and walking! She is such a cutie! we had a good time talking and catching up. then saturday we went to Lisa and Stephens house and had dinner and played games. They are expecting their first baby girl in 4 weeks so i had fun picking out fun girl outfits and stuffed animals that i brought since i missed her shower. They are so excited!
Since all of our friends are having or had thier first baby Kevin and i poke at the idea of growing our family but we are enjoying each other and will get our baby fix from our friends for now.

Ginger!

So i come home today from a mundane day at work and newly inspired by the movie i recently watched "Julie, Julia" I decided to make something new for dinner! Kevin was happy since i have fallen in a rut of making alot of tacos, spaghetti, blt's, and pizza. At Aldi this week i picked up ground ginger remembering one of my recipes called for it and it was the tasty key ingredient in tonights meal! I made Hibachi chicken like they make at the japanese steakhouse! Kevin said it wasnt as good as theirs because he didnt see any ball of fire or fancy spatula work and i didnt have the cool big hat either, but as far as taste it was right on. I even made fried rice with the eggs and everything! it was fun! We ate with candles lit as we like to do every once in a while to spice up dinner at home. Now if only i could get the recipe for the ginger dressing they use on their salad...!
This week i picked a few new meals to try, there will be a black bean and corn soup, a veggie beef chowder, and some type of chicken with noodles bake thing. We will see how that goes!
Kevin has two wraped presents for me under our tree! He has been putting them in odd shaped boxes so Icannot guess what they are. I have been doing most of my shopping online this year wich reminds me i have more than i thought still do get done!
ok well im going to see if i can upload some pics now for some reason it takes 10 years for me to do it on this blog and i dont know why... thus the reason there are no pics on our blog yet!

What a weekend!

Kevin and i are hanging out now on the couch watching Benji rescue some cute mountain lion cubs on tv, and i have my hot chocolate and addressing our Christmas cards. Just relaxing after a crazy weekend.
It all started when i was running late to work on a rainy thursday. Needless to say i left my lights on... not to worry tho bc i do that so much i have my own jumper cables! I got a girl at work to help me jump it but nothing happened, thinking i put the cables on the wrong sides i switched them....still nothing and apparently that is bad to do too. i gave it a good 15 min and nothing. To Kevin's disappointment he had to come all the way back to work to pick me up. What a sweetheart! When he got there he also tried to jump it but nothing. Well i guess when i did that switcharoo with the cables i blew a fuse. So we went home.
The Next day i went to work early with Kevin and that night when he got off he changed the fuse, working in the bitter cold, poor baby! But he got it to work we both drove home which is about 30min drive. That should have been enough to charge it again. Well Friday was my day off had the whole day planned! I Get out to my car and it doesnt start! No i didnt leave my lights on again! So i cleaned the house while i waited for Tommy to bail me out! He came and jumped me again! But this time that was all i needed and it worked the rest of the day!
I was able to go to Michaels and get some beads and pearls for Christmas gifts. and Kari and i hung out and went to lunch. I also got the ingredients for Christmas cookies. yay i cant wait!!
Kevin's grandma can=me into town so we had dinner with her before going to Easton for our date night. It was beautifuly decorated and we just had a good time window shopping!
On saturday i got sick while at work but no sick time left so i fought thru it but when i got home Kevin took care of me got me dinner and a movie and lots of hugs. Just what i needed! My throat still hurts and i have a nasty cough but im taking my echinacia (sp?) and vitamin C like candy!
We went to Mom & Dad's church today to watch our whole family in the Christmas play. They all did wonderful and it was very entertaining! We had Christmas taco dinner afterward with the church. It was nice to visit familiar faces again!
