Nette made me awesome orange dice for the new car!!
Kat is trying to show me my gift on the computer its a beautiful orange pottery container!
Kari got me a fun cupcake spiral to display cupcakes or muffins! Tommy and Anna got me a funny card of course with a starbucks giftcard. It was just so special to be surrounded by loved ones and new friends!
Birthdays are the best!
Well I actually finished painting the living room a few weeks ago but Kat mentioned that she wanted to see pictures so I thought I would share on here.
This is my best attempt at the dumb curtains! My mom and aunt Judy put me to shame!
I put my photo albus and scrapbooks on the bottom shelf and added some pictures and my bamboo plant!
Next im going to paint my picture frames white so they dont clash so much.
Still need to paint the Frieplace White (and convince Kevin) and Kevin will make a new mantle for it as well
Part of Kevin's Valentines Day gift! mmmm!
Yesterday Kevin surprised me with a picnic with Subway and a movie then gave me a Pandora like bracelet that I just love! today I made him a steak dinner, chocolate chip cookies, and made fun coupons that he can use whenever. We had a good Valentines Day!
But what was there TO cry about? I really had a blessed birthday weekend! I took off Friday and Saturday so i could have a weekend off. Kevin and i decided to stay in town instead of going somewhere else in Ohio and the festivities started when i got off work on thursday!
Kevin made an appointment at a dealer in Springfield about 45min away to test drive a Matrix i found there a few days earlier. So we woke up early and made our way out. We first took a test drive Kevin and i took turns. I was looking for a better pickup than my wimpy civic and it definatley had it! all in all it was a joy to drive very smooth, great turning radius, sits higher than a compact car, and the seats were so comfy! Which will be good for the long drives. When we got back Kevin looked at the carfax and started looking over the engine and what not leaving me in with the dealers who kept buttering me up but I stayed silent I didnt want to be talked into giving any info Kevin was going to use in his bargaining! Kevin then started asking how firm the price was being it was $8,995 and we agreed to only spend at most $8300. Kevin was using some of the things he learned in the Dave Ramsey class (which if you haven't taken, you should look into it seriously! ok end of my plug) to try to get a deal. Dealer spoke first bringing it down to $8500 and Kevin was silent for like 10 min (soo awkward for me) then brought up the accident it was in previously and how long they have had it (since summer) and counter offered $8000. The dealer asked us to "help him out" at then offered $8200. Kevin said "i can do that" and i smiled and shook the dealers hand sigh (or squeal) of relief! seriously they could have used my excitement for a commercial with the handshake and all! Since we were paying cash and our money was in an online bank we were going to wire the money but the bank said it could take 48 hours and we needed it now or deals off and we were running late for our next activity. So we call the dealer and ask if they take check (after stopping at 2 banks and driving around getting lost for 30 min) and they said yes so we just went straight back and did all the paperwork within 10 min which was good bc we had to rush home to make it to our performance of Cirque du Soleil: Dralion! All in all a good experience and I got to drive the car home!
I didnt like the graphics at first but they are growing on me which is good bc i dont think removing them is too high on Kevin's priority list!
2003 Toyota Matrix XR cute front end
I like that the dealer didnt but their sticker on the backside of it! look it has a rear wiper!?!
I already transferred my "carkit" jumper cables, transmission fluid, coolant, oil, and armor all! Im prepared with all the crappy cars Im used to but hopefully with this one I wont need it.
This is with the seats down which gives a huge amount of cargo space! Now Kevin can make trips to home depot with ease and get our bathroom done! lol
and of course i had to transfer my super cool Zebra seat covers with much reluctance from Kevin.
tehee! I like this view!
And a sunroof! We had it open today driving around since its was a bit warmer than freezing!
the upholstery was in excellent condition and its roomy for a car back there.
Praise the Lord for rewarding our patience and hard work there have been a few other cars that fell through or just didnt have what was on our list. We prayed about what we wanted/needed in a car and he checked everything on the list with this one. What an answer to prayer!
After the car we picked up Wendy's for quick lunch and headed to see Dralion. It was very entertaining and worth the money! we did change seats at intermission tho because there were alot of empty seats in the section next to us which was more centered. Play the video for a snapshot of what it is about!
Then we went to visit mom and dad Lopez to say hi and show them the car and they liked it. It was fun to catch up since we miss seeing them on sundays for lunch due to the class we are in after church.
Then Kevin took me to Red Lobster for dinner and it was sooo yummy! haven't had it in a while.
On saturday we went to a movie then had the mcdonalds $4 special to share before visting mom and dad Felger to show them the car. Kevin joked his dad would find something wrong with the car! I think after his inspection though he liked the car a lot. we all got in and took it for a spin. Dad noticed it needed tire pressure checked and sure enough today Kevin said it was really low.
After that we went to a pet store and a quick grocery store run before heading home.
Well it was a lovely weekend and im dreading work tomorrow now! lol!
