A Sick Day?

So this morning we had to get up super early (ahem...9:00am) because we had to take Maya to the vet for her vaccinations. Maya is a hyper dog around anyone (or worse any other dog) other than us. So I went into the vet office first to check in and make sure the coast was clear of any other dogs before Kevin came in with Maya and went straight into the room! all the while she is panting whining and running around. We really love our Vet tho bc she takes time with Maya and is not phased by Maya's behavior. Today though Maya REALLY didnt want her ears checked and snapped at the Vet! First time and I was disappointed in her but the vet was fine and said that she has fear agression and gave us some ways to work on that with her. However Maya is very food motivated so the Vet slapped peanut butter on a stick and we lured Maya with that while the vet administered the vaccines! Yay! no muzzle needed! They are so good with her! Now we dont have to do another rabies shot for 3 years and she has her shots so she can go in a kennel if needed while we are on vacation.
After that I was an hour late for work so i just decided to take the whole day off and use sick time. I just cant seem to not touch my sick time when its just sitting there not being used! Oh boy!
So Kevin put me straight to work. I cleaned the Kitchen and did 2 loads of laundry, then Kevin and I cleaned out the "baby room" as we call it since thats what it will turn into whenever we start a family. I got alot of random linens put away and towels. Kevin threw out alot of old shirts and cleaned the closet.
Next we went to JC Penny Outlet since they will be closing and that is where I get all my cheap curtains from.

This is the decorative rod I picked

I bought two panels to go on either side of the Large window that have a little texture to them so they can blend with the white buts still stand out.

This is the pic from the box, I bought the long sheer white drape that will look like the picture just longer when Im done.
I found this also at JCPenny on sale and Kevin got it for me as an early birthday gift. It will com in handy with all the traveling we are hoping to do this and the coming years! I love the bright orange!

Here is a closeup of the fake lizard skin....

and this is the lining and its purple!!

this is just a random picture Kevin surprised me with these pretty flowers a few days ago and they have really opened up!

After JCPenny we went to mom and dad Felger's house to pick up some china sets they wanted to get rid of. I have a new obssesion with various china sets! Hopefully tomorrow we can go back to pick up the China cabinet Rena was kind enough to give me!

a white flower in the center of the plates

we also were given a set of silver dinnerware! I will have to get some silver polish to shine them up but im glad to have this set because we seem to always come short when we host for the holidays.

some of the serving utensils

After lunch we went to pet store to get Maya some more toys and treats and they had a sale going on in aquatics which was cool because me and a few at work were talking about getting bettas for our desks at work. since I already had most of the stuff i got this lil guy! I names him Puddles!

and here is Kobe! he is getting bigger. about 4.5in across! I moved him into our bedroom to make room in the dinning room for the china cabinet. I also did a much needed tank cleaning and added some plants and replaced the UVB light.

Kobe says "ahhh clean water!"

these plants are supposed to float at the top but are sucked down by the filter but he still likes hiding in it.

Kobe's basking log.

I love his bright red colors, he is an eastern painted turtle

waiving hello!

Home sweet home!
now thats how to spend a sick day!
Im off to get take out for dinner and end the night with a movie! I pray Kevin can get his homework done!
His classes are getting more intense! I must say I am so proud of him going to school working full time and working on the house on the weekends! I am always praying for God to continue to give him motivation and stamina poor kid! Hope you all are are doing well and feel free to let us know what you all are up to!

Ringing in the New Year with Bones, Trains, & Ikea!

Like last year, Kevin and I decided to go to Cincinnati to ring in the New Year! We left at 9pm when I got off work on that Friday and arrived at 11:30pm so we didnt miss the ball drop! We stayed up late watching HGTV since we dont get cable at home and slept around 2am.
The next day our hotel Drury Inn let us eat breakfast late so we went down at 10am or so and had waffles eggs and sausage.
Then we went to the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History which is actually in an old terminal building which was pretty cool.

We had a great time but started to get tired. We went back to the hotel and had dinner. Then enjoyed a little more cable t.v. We were going to swim but i was getting over a cold and didnt feel like it.

The next day we were Ikea bound! It was super busy because of the sale going on but fun. We took our time...
As soon as we got home we put stuff together, this is one of the end tables

I bought two of these for the living room so cute but they didnt give off as much light as I thought.

Kevin building our new dresser. It was kind of expensive so we didnt get the matching headboard for the bed but its hardwood so hopefully it will last a long time.
the coffee table, I am going toget baskets to put on the bottom shelf for magazines and books etc.

I have wanted this shelf forever and it was only $19.99! If you can tell we went with white for the living room because im painting it Blue and the fireplace white next week! cant wait! I love interior decorating.

The end table put together. Im going to look for circular baskets to put on the little bottom shelf.

table again i was suprized how sturdy it is and it was only $19.99 too!

All done!

We got this sign in Hocking Hills a few weeks ago. I had been wanting to put something there for a while

Today I put pictures on the SD card for my digital picture frame from Kevin for Christmas

Maya's favorite spot right next to the kerosene heater!

This is the tray I got from Ikea for my tea set along with the cute teaspoons

Here is a tea cup Grandma Coralie gave me.
After Ikea we came home and put things together, had pizza and watched a movie. It was a good weekend!

This week we started our fist Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University. We are both very excited about it and suggest you all look into it! Its $100 for the kit and materials and you are a member for life. check to see if your church hosts the classes. Im telling you it will change your life! Also for those with kids 5 or older there is also a program to help you teach your kids about money and being good stewards.
Well I hope you all have a Blessed week!
